Family Law Group

As life becomes more complicated, the definition of the family unit often changes. And when family must deal with change – including separation, divorce, custody and access, child support, spousal support and property issues – it’s imperative that those involved seek the guidance of a knowledgeable, professional law firm.

Family Law Group of London takes great pride in knowing that its team of lawyers are a like-minded group with your best interests always at the forefront. A boutique family law firm practicing exclusively in family law, Family Law Group has recently grown to include five lawyers ready to help make your life changes as smooth as possible.

Family Law Group offers personal, professional and compassionate service to individuals who are either considering separating, or have separated from their spouse/partner. Lawyer Lisa Walters B.A., LL.B, a new addition to Family Law Group, said because the firm is a closely-knit unit with a sole focus on family law, clients therefore receive the best available support during times of transition.

“We have the needs of the family at the forefront of everything we do,” explained Walters. “All of our lawyers and our support staff are family law focused. We all practice family law exclusively. No matter what family matter you bring to us, we’ve seen that scenario before. And with an experienced team, we can bounce ideas off of each other to serve you well.”

Brenda Barr is the founder of Family Law Group. She received a BA in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University. Barr worked as a social worker for Child and Family Services of Waterloo Region, as well as for the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex. In 1991, she graduated with a law degree from Western, and she has been in private practice since her call to the Bar in 1993.

Caitlin Reid joined Family Law Group as a Junior Associate shortly after her call to the Bar in 2012. Reid holds an Honours B.A. in Political Science and Criminology from Western University, where she also obtained her LL.B.

Matthew Villeneuve joined Family Law Group in 2014. While completing an Honours B.A. degree at the University of Windsor, Villeneuve continued his studies at both the Institut De Formation Internationale in Rouen, France and the HEAO Arnhem International Business School in the Netherlands. After these experiences he completed law school at the University of Windsor and then moved to London where he has solely practiced Family Law. Matthew was called to the bar in 2006

Lisa Walters recently joined the family law group in September 2015. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in 2002 from Western University. She attended law school at Western University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 2005. Lisa was called to the Bar in 2006 and has practiced exclusively in the area of family law in London since her call. She is the current President of the Middlesex Family Law Association, and Chair of the Board of Directors for Community Living

London. Although Lisa has extensive experience in the court room, she is also trained in collaborative law.

Another new addition to Family Law Group, Jessica Lubrick was called to the Bar in June 2015, and began her work as a Junior Associate with the firm shortly thereafter.
